A-Aidat’s bi-folding speed gate is an aluminium-framed, motorised vehicle gate designed for sites that require fast and controlled vehicle access. The gate is suitable for industrial areas, logistics facilities, depots, business premises, car parks and public sites.
Bi-folding speed gates are dimensioned to fit clear opening widths of 4–8 metres. Standard heights are 2 and 2.4 metres, with a barbed wire extension available as an option. The gate features a welded aluminium frame, vertical slat infill, hot-dip galvanised steel posts and gate automation configured to suit the requirements of each site.
Our bi-folding speed gate, also known as a fast fold gate or quick fold gate, opens in under three seconds as the gate leaves fold to the sides. It is the right solution when a gate needs to operate quickly, close reliably and provide a physical barrier for access control.
The bi-folding speed gate works as part of a fencing and perimeter security system, and it does not require as much lateral clearance as a traditional sliding gate.
The bi-folding speed gate is particularly well suited to sites where the gate is used frequently throughout the day and vehicle traffic needs to flow smoothly without long waiting times.
A-Aidat’s bi-folding speed gate has a welded aluminium frame. The gate leaf frame is aluminium, with vertical slats as infill. The aluminium structure makes the gate a lightweight and practical solution for sites where the gate is opened and closed frequently.
The gate posts are hot-dip galvanised steel. The gate can be supplied in natural aluminium finish or powder-coated in any RAL colour to match the appearance of the site and the surrounding fencing system.
The bi-folding speed gate is suitable for clear opening widths of 4–8 metres. Gate heights are 2 metres and 2.4 metres, with a barbed wire extension available as an option. The bottom clearance is typically 100–200 mm.
The clear opening width and gate height are dimensioned according to the site. Dimensioning takes into account the width of the opening, volume of vehicle traffic, security requirements, direction of gate opening and the surrounding fence structure.
The bi-folding speed gate is a motorised gate with programmable opening and closing speeds. The gate speed is approximately 1 metre per second, making it a smooth solution for high-volume vehicle traffic. The gate uses reliable DAAB gate motors and an Ovitor control unit. Control can be implemented according to the needs of the site using access control, GSM control, an induction loop or another opening device. Multiple different opening devices can be connected to the gate control unit.
Standard colours for both pedestrian gates and bi-folding speed gates are natural aluminium, dark green (RAL 6005), dark grey (RAL 7016) and light grey (RAL 7023). Other colours are available on request.
A motorised gate is equipped with the safety devices required for safe operation. A-Aidat’s bi-folding speed gate includes safety edges and a photocell pair. Depending on the site, safety loops or other safety solutions can also be added to the gate. The safety devices prevent the gate from moving in the closing direction if an obstacle is detected within the gate’s closing area. The gate is certified to standard DIN EN 12453:2017.
The bi-folding speed gate is suitable for sites that require fast, repeated and controlled vehicle access. It is a practical solution particularly for areas where a barrier arm alone does not provide sufficient physical security and a sliding gate would require too much lateral space.

The bi-folding speed gate is a good choice when the gate needs to open quickly and there is not enough lateral space on either side of the opening for a sliding gate. The gate leaves fold to the sides of the gate, so the solution saves space especially in tighter entrances.
A barrier arm is suitable for lighter vehicle access management, but it does not physically close the opening the way a fence does. The bi-folding speed gate is the better option when the area needs to be clearly defined and the gate needs to function as part of a perimeter security system.
